Managing
Space

Blessed
are those who create an empty space.
A
furniture-bare white room could be interpreted in different ways,
but one thing is for certain; my client Tom is truly blessed. Anyone
who can create an area in a home that is void of furniture is very
fortunate. Simplicity is usually the best kind of wealth. Large
throw pillows will be added and artwork mounted after we put one
more coat of paint on the walls.
As I roll the fifth coat of paint onto the
laminate floor, wonderment floats through my mind as to what the
architect had initially planned this room for. Too big as a hallway,
too awkwardly small as a room, the space is evolving into a Yoga
area. We let the space talk to us by visualizing its most ideal
use.
Managing
space:
Your space is 360 degrees. How do see yourself using it for your
needs or desires? Take some time to sit in every area.
What’s your purpose for entering the space? What's your focus?
What’s the flow of traffic? What could be useful, or what
could interfere?
What do you want to put into and get out of the space physically
and emotionally?
How is the room balanced when introducing elements?
