THE FOUNDATION OF FRIENDSHIP
No one is self-made

A great teacher can make a thought stay with you for a lifetime, and I’ve had a few great teachers. Over a decade ago I was enrolled in an introductory tourism class at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Lorin Toepper, my professor, was pacing in front of the class when he was making the point, “Don’t believe anyone when they tell you they are self-made. There is no such thing as a self-made man. Anyone who claims their success is where they are with the help of others.”
These words prove true when I look where I am today. Landing at an oceanfront estate, I’m tending to a very large nest that puts all my talent, skills and experience into action. It's an achieved goal, and I wouldn’t be here without the help of others.

After a swim, I tote a pocket full of keys to check on buildings. Work and personal time blend into one schedule while I manage the estate.
