TOTS AND YACHTS
Seeking good climate, amazing environment

My first stop on the “2004 Tour” was San Diego, and the sun, sail and city life put me in rapture. It was a 180° difference from what I was used to in Alaska. I went from diesel-fumed Carhartts and steel-toe work boots to a bikini top and bare feet for my workday wear.
The family that I worked for offered me the use of a 1980’s 3/4 ton black GMC Suburban with surfer stickers on the tinted windows and chrome step rails. A bitchin’ vehicle. With their dog Codi as my companion, we would make an occasional trip to the landfill. I looked forward to the landfill runs because the place never ceased to amaze me. Who would grasp the scale of garbage that humans produce until you see it for yourself?

Web Site Commentary:
San Diego influenced a change to the Web site design, moving away from a vague tour theme and onto a sunnier appeal. Projects were featured along with travel writing, and a few how-to articles were posted.
